INTERNSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
CIDSE is an international alliance of Catholic development agencies. Our 17 member organisations from Europe and North America come together under the umbrella of CIDSE to fight poverty and inequality. We challenge governments, business, church institutions, and international bodies to adopt policies and behaviour that promote human rights, social justice and sustainable development.
The year ahead will be particularly busy and exciting with political milestones such as UN climate negotiations – COP 21 in Paris in December 2015. In this context, CIDSE’s Secretariat, located in Brussels, is currently looking for an intern for the period June 2015 – January 2016 to join its international team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support CIDSE staff working on its main priorities for 2015, with a particular focus to the preparation of the CIDSE network mobilisation on the occasion of the COP 21 in Paris and other campaigns and projects related to sustainable development:
-Support the coordination and information flow within the network;
-Provide organisational support to teleconferences and meetings (e.g. minute taking);
-Provide logistical and organisational support for events and various projects (e.g. arranging accommodation, transport etc.);
-Participate in CIDSE activities in Paris in December 2015;
-Accompany guests in Paris during COP21;
-Support monitoring of UN/EU political processes in the run up to the COP;
-Support the documentation of activities.
Support CIDSE communications and media work by:
-Updating our website;
-Editing/ proofreading texts;
-Supporting social media activities.
Your profile:
-Good writing skills (Including writing for the Web);
-Good IT skills (Office, CMS);
-Excellent organisational and planning skills and ability to take the initiative and prioritize from a range of tasks;
-Fluent written and spoken English and French, German also an asset;
-Graduated in Political Sciences, International relations, Development Studies, Communications or related fields;
-A keen interest in the development and environment field;
-Team worker, dynamic and flexible;
-Sharing of CIDSE’s Christian values.
